Nicola Platt

Nicola is a graduate from Reading University and started her working life as a Management and Valuation Surveyor for Daniel Smith Chartered Surveyors.

She first entered the recruitment industry in 1995 working for the Angela Mortimer Group where she became one of their senior consultants and recruiting across the sectors. She went on to work for a venture capitalist who had recently acquired the New Covent Garden Soup Company and Caffe Nero. She set up the HR and Personnel functions for the Caffe Nero Group and co-ordinated the PR, image re-branding and investor relations.

Nicola joined Odgers Ray & Berndtson (now Odgers Berndtson) in 1999 and worked for Ian Odgers in the Board Practice before moving across to the newly formed Not-for-Profit and Healthcare Practices to work for Virginia Bottomley as her Executive Assistant and Business Developer. She successfully and consistently worked at senior level, on market sensitive assignments.

She left Odgers in 2005 to have a family and has since pursued a portfolio career as a Freelance Recruiter and Researcher, Advisory Board Member for the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society and Head of Sponsorship for the British Eventing Monmouthshire One Day Event.
